At Wagner Encaustics, reuse and recycle is very important to us. In the future, we intend to offer a refill program that enables artists to reuse their cans while keeping colors at their rich, dense consistency. There is a recyclable element in the medium itself. All encaustic paint that is scraped off the ground surface in the process can be placed back into the tin and remelted. There is virtually no waste. If you scrape your wax usng a metal tool; you can keep your color scrapings organized and melt them again, creating unique colors that are good to the last drop. Unlike oil paints, our colors don't dry out when you are not using them. They can be stored for the next use. Just dust them off and melt them down to their very same consistency.

You can turn your wax off and leave the brush to set up in it eliminating the need to use solvents of any kind.
