The History of our paints

Wagner Encaustics was established in 2004. Painter Elise Wagner was originally led to make her own paints in 1992 after seeing a demonstration of the encaustic medium while in college. Out of a need to be resourceful, she applied her knowledgge of color chemistry to make her own colors. This was the inception of what in the distant future would become Wagner Encaustics.

About the Founder

A working artist for nearly two decades, Wagner is often sought out for technical consultation, product testing, demonstrations, lectures and workshops. Wagner's work has appeared in several publications and is represented in galleries across the country including Portland, Boston, Seattle, Bellevue and Tulsa.
